  • Help Burning Movies

ok, so when i have SVCD or VCD movies that are mpegs... it's no problem burning them to CD-R's (i dont have a dvd burner unfortunately, only cd)... but i downloaded a few movies that are AVI's.. and i really want to put them onto a cd and watch them on my DVD player like i do with the mpegs...

can i do this? i use the newest Nero.... can i convert avi to mpeg?

or can i burn the avi's the a cd and watch them? help me out... thanks....

if your DVD player supports mpeg 4 codecs like divx or xvid then the .avi's might b e playable. More likely it doesn't thus converting to vd or svcd is your only choice. Incase you want to get a bit more serious about the converting process and get a really good tool try http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html
tmpgenc is my favorite and produces great results. I never tried winmpg so it might work well, but incase you are looking for a good alternative this is it.

ok... im using TMPEnc... i hope the quality comes back good.... now my next question is....

how do i cut the MPEG file in half? because the output file will be too big for my 80min cd-r... so i know im going to have to cut the file in 2.. let me know.. thx...
