  • Need help with a .bin file

I downloaded a file with a .bin extension but it didnt come with a .cue file, so i cant burn it or mount it. I created a .cue file using notepad and the code:

    FILE "filename.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

but that still didnt work, cos everytime i mounted it on a virtual drive it hangs the PC. So I was wondering if anyone knows a software that can create .cue files from a bin file. Or if theres anyway I can extract the files off the .bin file. Thanks.

No the actual name. It's the first disk for 'splinter cell'

If you can't find it, I can email it to you. It's a small file only about 22 kb. PM with your email address if you're interested.

/\ I found the program, but it wont work on my computer for some reason. Says it cant run msdos commands. Anyway thanks for the help. I think the .bin file is corrupted, cos it wont even open in 'MagicISO'.

So I have to download the damn thing again.

/\It didnt work, the file probably had some corrupted data. Anyway the whole .bin file was only 250 megs which was a bit small considering that ISO files are usually between 500-650 megs.

I doubt a game like splinter cell would have around 250 megs. it was probably incomplete

If it's a movie file, give VCDGear a shot. It converts like, .bin/cue to .mpg and vice versa. I haven't used it in months so it may have changed, but you can give it a shot.
