DVD screen shots

i have a laptop with a DVD-R drive (i also have an external DVD-R drive for my other laptop) and i was wondering how or what program you would use to take a screenshot (a still picture) from a DVD

any help appreciated

Power DVD, Windows Media Player, WinDVD...pretty much anything...

Personally i use Power DVD.

but I am more familiar with Windows Media Player
how do i take a screenshot using that?
im pretty sure prntscrn doesn't work for videos

Yeah you have to turn off 'Video overlays' to get a picture

1 -In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Performance tab.
2 -Click the Advanced button.
3 -In the Video Acceleration area, clear the Use overlays check box.

Much easier with PowerDVD, just click the lil camera icon and you're done.
