i put an Ibook on layaway today... am i getting a good deal?

i saw it in a pawn shop, and its in fairly good condition. they only want $175 for it. i have no idea what year it is, the HD space, or ram. but they let me operate it (it worked fine, a little slow, but ill just reinstall the OS later) i tested the cd drive, this was fine... it has MAC OSX - i know nothing about macs which is why i was so eager to getone so i could learn - is this the latest OS???

Mac OS X 10.4 is the latest OS... Leopard (10.5) is gonna be released soon but I mean.. it does look old so iono if 10.5 is really something you'd be intrested in

If you have a chance to go back an use it again, click on the Apple on the top left corner an go down to "About This Mac" an it should tell you the specs on it

THANKS -- i was looking for a "my computer" type of thing but was rushed and couldnt figure it out. i had a friend with me he was being loud and touching everything so i didnt have much time/concentration. next time ill go alone and ask to hold it again... the opposite taskbar thing throws me off. lol!!

so, if the specs say it is before what year/HD space/RAM should i not consider the newest OS? thanks...
