SD card memory issue

So for my phone I use a 4GB SD card. I deleted most of the stuff I don't need and try to free up some space. The problem is when I right click the drive in "My Computer" to view properties, it shows I only got 1.5 or so GB free. But when I go double click to go inside the drive and select all the files and folders and right click to view properties, it shows I only used 600mb. So I should actually have 2-3 or so GB free.

I got the option on to view hidden files and folders.

So where are the extra space used up from? How can I actually clear up the space? Any help would be much appreciated.

i have a the same issue with one of my memory sticks and i dont have an idea either
