as a non-religious person i would like to have some straight up facts on the table about jesus the person. do we have PROOF that he actually existed? nevermind the religious stuff, what are the FACTS about jesus? what made this person become one of the most worshipped persons in the world? i heard that this book called "the davinci code" tells of him being married with children. what proof do they have to back this up, and what do we actually KNOW about this man who lived some 2000 years ago? any contributions are appreciated, thank you.

I refuse to partake in any religious debate on a board for a number of reasons, I prefer to do it over a type of messenger service . I can address most of the religious issues on messenger including the imfamous Da Vinci Code. Until then, I will only comment with a few encyclopedia sources.

Believe me, I would more than love to knock this out on the board, however, with the atmosphere it would be difficult to keep on topic and keep it from getting personal.Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love.Khalil Gibran

there was a thread this was briefly spoken about before.

you could check out the thread, but it basically turned(after the few pages around those links^) into a discussion(...or lack there of) of evolution. My other aliases:

Gee. I wasn't aware Christians worshipped Jesus. I mean, I was brought up Protestant and I never went to Seminary, but I'm fairly certain that we don't worship Jesus. We worship God the father and we believe in the Holy Trinity, but we don't worship Jesus as you allude.
How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin. -Reagan

^ Six different records mention Jesus that date from those times. Read the first few sources posted. We know a man Jesus existed around that time, susposedly born 5-6 B.C., but obviously there is no hard evidence about the resurrection (though its mentioned in a record or two) and his miracles which is very unfortunate. I dont know how you could prove that - but it should at least be mentioned more of it was of such importance then.

Jesus walked on water--------Well the Dead Sea in Jerusalem does have the highest concentration of salt, therefore everything's buoyancy sky-rockets. His "walking" on water could of been exaggerrated.
Jesus turned water into wine, and made a lot of food where there wasn't a lot or some shit--------Could of been a trick.
He healed lepers, and other ailments---------Perhaps he had a gift with both physical healing, and Spiritual healing. I'm guessing the latter.
Ressurection----Who knows if it happened.
...........Those are just my thoughts on the miracles.
