The Iraq war will cost Americans $145 billion dollars this year alone. That $145 billion could buy free tuition, room, and board for every student in a public university or college, and there would still be enough money left over to end hunger in America four times over.

I call bull shit. Average cost of a Public University right now for a year is $16,400. If that $145 billion (which a lot of it is already a sunk cost in the military budget, war or no war) it would pay for less then 9 million students to go to college for 1 year. Right now there are 11.5 million enrolled at Public colleges and 3 million enrolled in Private colleges. If the government were to pay for all those tuitions (moving the kids in private schools to public schools), it would cost about $238 billion for one year!

That is also assuming only 14.5 million kids want to go to college. If college was free, I'm sure more kids would want to go and that would raise the total cost for the government.

The US Government already puts $700 Billion into health care funding a year. Education is mostly state funded, but the government still gives in $60+ billion.

Name me one country where everything is perfect. You can only do so much. Throwing money at everything is not the answer.

So why do the hospitals send all these humongous bills to everybody? And why do people pay their monthly racket to health insurance agencies?

Because it is expensive. Hospitals will not work for free.
