  • Protein Drinks?

    I bought a "100% Whey Protein" drink from GNC. They said after working out, within 60 minutes just make one of these and then drink it. Now has anyone used a protein drink? And are the results any good?

    I don't think I've ever met someone who is semi-interested in body-building and doesn't use protein drinks. First of all, it's safe and 100% natural (proteins are mostly found in meat), and protein is used by your body to build muscle is also the least nutrient least likely to be converted to bodyfat. Protein also helps promote fat loss because it has been shown to increase our metabolism more than any other macronutrient.

      Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey is great tasting and cheap. Take a scoop and a half with a cup of milk ASAP post workout.

        ive used the elite whey protien it worked great for me took it after every workout

          dont just drink one protein shake a day its bet to get 2 gs of protein per lb. of bodyweight.. also there are types of protein that stay in your system for much longer i cant remember the term but im sure if you went to your local suppliment store they would be able to direct you

            ^ 2 grams per pound of bodyweight is pretty much overkill. Perhaps if you're on a diet and trying to preserve lean muscle mass, but I'd say 1.5 grams is more of a practical goal. Whey protein is fast absorbing, therefore ideal for post-workout shakes and breakfast shakes. Caseinate is slow digesting, better for nighttime consumption.

              i used it ,2 gain some weight , cuz i was a very skinny girl .
              and it worked for me , and working out in the gym 5 times a week helped me 2 allot .

                  using them i put on like about half a stone of muscle within a couple of months but the shakes i got tasted horrible so i stopped taking them

                            i got the same kind, do u use a blender in the milk cus milk is alot more viscous than water and the powder doesnt dissolve.
                            the chunks is the only thing that makes me kinda gag, but the chocolate is my favorite.

                            i was thinkin about putting it in brownies, oatmeal, ice cream, etc.
                            i might try that stuff but it might digest faster in a liquid rather than food source.
                            any comments on eating ideas are good cus i dont know if it matters or not.

                              i have the same kind of protein, i put it in 8 oz's of water with a teaspoon of creatine...i don't mind the taste, and as for results ive only been on it for a week and a half. make sure when your taking the protein that you still eat the normal amount of food that you would eat if you weren't on it, cause it tends to make you full.
