I Apologize If This Is Posted In The Wrong Spot But I Figured This Was A Hygeine Question And Should Go Here>>>

No Matter How Much Shaving Cream I Use Or How Gently I Shave I Always Gets All These Red Bumps And Red Skin Coloring On My Face And Especially On My Neck ! I Use An Electric Shaver And Im Not Sure If That Is The Problem But If Anybody Could Give Me Some Kind Of Tips I Would Appreicate It Because This Shit Is Ugly ! I Will Rep Those Who Help If My Boxes Turn Green Again Thank You Guys !

    My best advice

I have always prefered shaving gel. I use the green Gillette sensitive stuff. I also apply the cream with a brush.. old school.

You need to clean your face in warm water first. This opens your pores and softens the hair, making it easier to shave.

Apply the gel with a brush - as well as helping you to use less cream, the brush also help the hair stand up and be shaved easier.

Hair on your face grows from the left side to the right - shave in that direction where possible, not against it.

Once you have shaved, clean your face in cold water. This helps to close the skin pores.

After that, use a balm - Nivea have some great ones.

If you're already doing all this, I dunno what else to suggest?

Wow Thank You For The Advice I Was Doing Many Of Those Things Wrong !

I Had No Idea Hair Grew From The Left To The Right, I Dont Apply Gel With A Brush, And I Dont Use Cold Water Or Balm At The End I Just Hop Back In The Shower After

          Good article, Eric

I was shaving kinda badly until I read an article called "The Perfect Shave". I think it was in Mens Health or GQ.

I basically took all the advice on board.. but still to this day, I don't know a single other person who uses a brush to apply cream. Man I'm cool.

Hey Omaha, I have a problem with shaving afterwards too. I wouldn't say I get bumps all the time, but i tend to get really irritated and sometimes will acquire bumps a couple days after. So usually i tend to just stick with my beard or..if i have to shave i do use a regular razor with sensitive skin shaving cream and aftershave. My hair is very course and extremely rough to begin with so that doesn't help any. If you let your hair (facial) grow out too long, try not to shave it all in one time. I know that sounds odd, but just shave some at first. Then do some more (the next layer) the next day, and so on. It gets your skin used to the shaving and tends not to break out or react as much.
