    Can someone tell me what a crunch is? I see these infomercials on tv saying how they get good crunchs from these 6 second abs workout thing.
    BTW are they any good, or is it just bullshit.

    Now what exactly is a crunch and how is it supposed to feel like. I know your supposed to get them when your doing push ups or pull ups, but what are you supposed to feel?

    Id love to explain more but have to run at moment.

    This should get you started.

      crunches are for ur abs.

      i never heard anything different like push ups or pullups

        Yeah I figured it was for the abs. I thought crunches were exhursions you place on your stomach when doing pullups or pushups.

          Preparation

          Lie supine on bench with head hanging off and knees and hips bent. Hold plate behind neck or on chest with both hands or use no weight.
          Execution

          Flex waist to raise upper torso from bench. Return until the back of the shoulders contact the padded incline board. Repeat.

          Don't follow the commercials that are ytrying to sell you a product you can't spot reduce fat from the abdominal area with the crunch:

          Spot Reduction Myth
          Contrary to what the info commercials suggest, there is no such thing as spot reduction. Fat is lost throughout the body in a pattern dependent upon genetics, sex (hormones), and age. Overall body fat must be reduced to lose fat in any particular area. Although fat is lost or gained throughout the body, it seems the last area to become lean or the first area to get fat is the midsection (in men and some women) and hips and thighs (in women and few men). Sit-ups, crunches, leg-hip raises, leg raises, hip adduction, hip abduction, etc. will only exercise the muscles under the fat.
