  • Messed up my shoulder

    A little more than a month ago I messed my shoulder up while benching. It just felt like it kinda tweaked a little bit so I kept going. Later that night it started hurting, and the next morning I could barely lift it. I could barely lift it for the next 4-5 days, then went to the doctor's office for a walk-in. He said it's probably my rotator cuff and I just gotta not do anything with it for a week, and if it gets worse in a week, then come bacc for an MRI. Well, it's been a month and it still hurts. I can move it, but certain motions hurt, and I definitely can't work out anything on my upper body besides my arms.

    Anyone had anything similar to this happen to them?! I'm going to make an appoinment, but to get one with a sports medicine doctor might take another month.

    A similar incident occurred at one of my basketball teammates last season. He was lifting and felt minor discomfort in his shoulder but fortunately finished his set and then let it rest. The next few days at practice, he couldn't do anything with his right arm but in slowly began to recover. To my understanding, he just pinched a nerve awkwardly and caused major pain in his shoulder and arm. The problem with your incident was that you continued to apply work to the injured area and therefore causing the area far more damage than my teammate and explaining why my friend was only injured for a few weeks and you are injured for over a month.

      I cannot actually admit anything of the matter ever happened to me. But, I really suggest to make that appointment.
