They're not even alike in any way. What would be the point? What are you trying to do?

what happens when you open it? Were you using a download manager? And how big is it... how many MB?

hmmmm... try just changing the extention to .mp3. See what happens. Make a copy of the file first though so you don't lose it.

^Yeah but the thing is with this guy, he said he downloaded it and when he opens, he can listen to it. And he said it's 3.2 MB and if you've ever saved a website you know its not that big. I think his download manager fucked it up. He may beable to just just the extention from .html to .mp3. I'm curious to see what happened with it.

wtf @ all the "mystery" surrounding this

few peops have said it already, just change the extension.

                          ok, follow this

                          1. When you click the file, does it have a name that ends .html? [if yes, go to 7. If no, go to 2]

                          2. Open up any folder.
                          3. Go to "tools" then "folder options"
                          4. There should be an option that allows you to see file extensions. Check it and press ok
                          5. go back to your "music" file
                          6. When you click on it now, you should see that it has a name that ends .html
                          7. Delete the name of the file and retype it adding .mp3 at the end. This will change it to a music file

this is not uncommon btw. A lot of message boards don't allow .mp3 extensions to be posted in links and a lot of servers [when being used at school or work for example] won't allow .mp3, .exe etc files to be downloaded using their server. The source location will use a .txt, .html etc extension so that it can be downloaded by someone who is behind a secure network
