  • Robert DeNiro Appreciation Thread

One of the greatest actors ever. He's done cops, gangsters, and regular guys and been equally convincing. Some of his roles are normal people, others are psychos. Young Michael Corleone, Johnny Boy, Travis Bickle, Jake La Motta, Sam Rothstein. Just a few of his memorable roles.

His best, though, in my opinion, was Jimmy Conway. He's working against the lead character (Liotta) and the loudest character (Pesci) to make Conway important, and he not only does so but makes the real story revolve more around Conway than Henry Hill. He takes what limited material he has to work with and makes Jimmy Conway scarier than Tommy and at the same time more sympathetic than Henry.

Taxi Driver Is One Of My Favorite Films Ever. Travis Bickle Is Number #3 [Last Time I Made My List Like A Year Ago] Of Favorite Charactors Of All Time. He Is A Great Actor- Loved Him As Johnny Boy [Finally Got Around To Seeing 'Mean Streets' A Few Months Back] And Jimmy Conway. Certainly One Of The Coolest Looking Actors.

I would say that Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas is his best and most overlooked part, but Casino is his overall best and most overlooked movie.

No don't do that, it sucks on TV because they dub all the cuss words and sounds silly and distracting. Just rent it, it's worth it.

Goodfellas is probably the best mafia movie. Its just so great.
I got heaps of De Niro movie posters in my room.

Probably my favorite actor (most definatly top two). Very convincing and for the most part picks good roles.

His Max Cady in Cape Fear = the devil incarnate

But now it's a problem cause they are buying the Eminem records?" - Proof
