M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan is a fucking genius. He's probably my favourite movie maker along with Steven Spielberg. Who else likes his work? Whats your favourite movie from him? I like the fact the he writes, directs, and produces all of his movies.

My favourite movie would have to be The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. The Village was pretty good but it was a disappointment for most fans.

Haven't seen Wide Awake. The Village fucking blows giraffe nuts, no exaggeration. The rest are great though.

It was a tie between The Sixth Sense and The Village. I went with the Sixth Sense.

He's ok. Genius? Not quite. He always gets some beautiful shots in his movies, you can't deny that he does have a really nice vision. But film-quality? The Sixth Sense was the only good film, and I wasn't even a big fan of that. Unbreakable was not a good follow-up to The Sixth Sense, Signs had a great idea and a very nice first 1/2 but the finale of the film where we see the aliens and we know their weakness towards water destroyed it. The Village, like Signs, had some great shots and took a fine story but, in my opinion, took an unwise risk (twist) that got terrible reviews across the board and plummeted at the box-office. He obviously needs to work on his endings. I think he is taking good ideas, but has NO IDEA how to let his stories develop and grow. Although I say this, I will not lie that if I do hear he has a new film coming out I will go see it in theatres hoping that he has learned from his mistakes.

ive never seen Wide Awake (along with almost everyone else)... but my favorite is a toss up between The Village and Signs... but i went with Signs...

it sucks that people hate on The Village... i think people were just expecting 'monsters' and 'boogymen' but if you went into the movie with an open mind and thought about the ending a little bit and how these people were forced to live the way they were because of some overprotective parents (pretty much) you'd realize that it was actually a pretty god story... but then again you do have those people who cant accept change when it comes to a director, so when they switch their formula, to try something new a lot of people cant take the outcome... my only complaint is the fact that it was advertised as a horror movie and i think that is the reason so many people hated on it.. they were expecting a different film...........

and just in case you wanted to see a REAL filmmaking genius at work... go buy ANY Tim Burton film... Shyamalan is far from a genius.... he's a good storyteller... but not a genius. Tim Burton, now that is pure genius at work!

the Village blew ass i thought...i'm just going by how much it was pumped up to be this insanely scary/thriller movie, and it was nothing of the sort. k, there was like 1 or 2 parts in the movie where i thought it was about to get good, then it just shit the bed.

he does make good movies though
