So, I for one can't wait for this film. I've been listening to the season DVDs and they talk about working on the script, and the animatics for the film, and they sound really excited.
Originally, they wanted to make Kamp Krusty the script for their film, but that was over 10 years ago, and they barely put together a 22 minute episode for that script. They vowed that they wouldn't begin working on a script until they had a storyline that was perfect for the feature-length format.
Now I know the show has been slumping for the last few seasons, producing only a handful of quality episodes, but I've noticed that they've hired a whole new team of writers (who clearly aren't as good as their core-writers). The core-writers have been working on the movie script during this time, but now the script is finished, and if you've noticed, the last few episodes of the last season were classics just like their best seasons.
Since the movie is coming out in '07 or '08 I really hope they do something satirical about the Bush administration to end this reign of terror. It wouldn't be their first run in with a Bush.
