earlier in the day, phone rang, picked up, an invitation
for us to attend a party intended for a friends brother's graduation
said 'No problem,' be there a quarter to eight, no later
called Reggie up told him the news, came over suited up in gators'
we was ready for this shit, goin' be drinkin' the bottles'
was 7:30, got in my car, put drinks in the back seat hit the throttle'
headed over there, called friend up, said we comin'-now
look in back', friend sunkin' down surprised he wasn't jumpin'-now
yo man cheer-up, soon enough we gon' raise the beer-up
plus the liquor and everything we could get ahold of, or no fear-of
he said im straight man, just relaxin', thinkin' of my time
i said what time? he said the time, when i go on that stage wit' mine
i said with what? he said that diploma, man i can smell-it
this is our last year, so psyched, as for my name, can barely spell-it
just excited dawg, and i said word, but nuff' let's talk-now
because im so excited bout' this drinkin' shit, i can barely walk-now
arrived right on time not one second later, started talkin'
felt like it was heaven', bottles everywhere, as soon as we walked-in
to this paradise, this was our time to go crazy, get-bitches
but whoever thought this night would end, with more than red-stitches
*Chorus*
Reggie, that night was crazy, bottles flyin'-in-smoke
June the 6th, was the night of the party, people cryin'-from-jokes
almost as if age 21 payed us a visit, we-were-drinkin'
fact was one of us was driven, didn't know what we-were-thinkin'
but we kept goin' chuggin' down them 40's wit' ease
and now you are in that coffin, who ever thought the fault was me
(Verse 2)
we haven' a blast, either you drinken' or verse-the-tryin'
out the cage crazy, someone cursed-us-lions, then we heard-the-sirens
saw lights flashin' in the window, we was like-shit-lets-go
me and reggie hopped out the back, underage drunks, like-shit-lets-go
went through the alley, runnin' down it while intoxicated
we made our way to the car, bettin' on our lives like the lots-in-vegas
goin' to be hard to drive, mind was swirlin', barely movin'
flored the car, went crazy down the road, hopen' for the cops to lose-em'
cars chasin' us, swirven' every lane, tryin' to stay focused
this hocus-pocus mind of ours was goin' crazy, started to drive atrocious
driven' 100 down the road, went off into a ditch-and-boom
i could barely move, but i looked a my boy, i doubt this bitch-had-room
shit was pressed in on him, could tell he wasn't-breathing
feelin' like my cousins-bleeding, confused like between love-and-cheating
i tried yellin' for help, cops came took me out, Reggie-next
carried me onto a stretcher, saw my boy, saying to him give-me-breath
come on don't leave me now, tears came in eyes, my fault
started yellin' homie, we were caught, but wasn't have as bad as i thought
took him to the operating room, started' doing procedures
he had gone into seizure, brain damage, like trouble from school teachers
then that flat line, homie was gone, i crushed all his dreams
maken' out of high school, and college, even the most, out of the streets
now i live with that to this day, no more drinkin' stayin'-good
you gave-me-good, now every night before i got to bed, i'm prayin'-good
should of never got in that car, consequences occured for-me
i took away his glory, couldn't express it to you homie, this is your story
*Chorus*
