To boxing fans this isnt really an "upset" because we all know Winky Wright is a good boxer and never really had his time to shine. Anyways Wright man handled Mosley. Wright bet #25,000 on himself at 3-1 odds.

I said it several weeks ago that Wright would beat Mosley. This guy has been dodged by all the top fighters for a reason! I give Mosley credit for taking this fight Wright more than deserved it, and if Mosley was just about the money he would have avoided this fight all together. I hope he doesn't try to rematch him because the same thing is going to happen, if not Wright will knock Mosley out for sure.

What I want to talk about is the Mesi fight. How many really are impressed by him? I thought this guy was a fraud since I first saw him, and after watching his fight with Jirov it was confirmed! He fights all these no names and the first time he fights someone with OKAY talent he almost gets knocked the fuck out? Not to mention Jirov is naturally a smaller less powerful guy (Cruiserweight). I'm calling it now if he fights any top 5 heavyweight he will get knocked out. Byrd, Oquendo, Toney, even Tyson would chew this bitch up!!! Let me know what you guys think!

Ronald "Winky" Wright unified the WBC/WBA/IBF 154lb titles with a twelve round unanimous decision over "Sugar" Shane Mosley Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Resort. Wright's victory also spoiled a planned mega-match between Mosley and comebacking three-division champion Felix Trinidad. The southpaw Wright was very sharp and befuddled Mosley from the opening bell, dominating the first four rounds. Shane started connecting with some good right hand leads in round five, while Wright appeared to slow down until round eight when he had a big round, landing almost at will. Wright then controlled the bout until round eleven. The fighters went toe-to-toe in a close twelveth round. Scores were 117-111, 117-111, 116-112.
