Only weird thing is, you'd expect Nike to get a more recgonisable team than Protugal. I mean, in a world-wide audience, the only real big star they have is Figo, compared to Brazil's Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, etc. i'm surprised Holland didn't get a part, with Ruud van Nistelrooy(although he is in the advert), Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, etc. for a more well know European squad.

I couldn't give a fuck about that, though. Shit looks good when the Camera zooms in on Ronaldinho doing the step-overs.

First of all, Ronaldo (ManU), Figo (Real Madrid), Rui Costa (AC Milan), Deco (FC Porto), Fernando Couto (Lazio), Hugo Viana (Newcastle), Quaresma (Barcelona), Pauleta (Bordeux),etc.. Doesn't sound like a bad team to me. Anyone who knows anything about soccer knows.

Second of all...The Euro 2004 is in Portugal people. They are hosts. It makes perfect sense.

My point was that Portugal are not a poster team filled with poster boys i.e. world wide famous players. However, plenty of other Nike sponsered teams are, especially Holland, with players playing as key players in world wide famous clubs. Only player you can really say that about, in portugal, is Figo. Sure Rui Costa is well known, but not as big as Figo, or Edgar Davids, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Clarence Seedorf, etc.

I do see the point about Portugal hosting Euro 2004, however. But again as Nike has nothing to do with Euro 2004, except sponsoring a few teams involved, it still isn't the best marketing plan for a worldwide commercial.
