  • The Death of WCW Book ...

Anyone else ready this? This is by far my favourite wrestling book of all time (probably my favourite book of all time now too lol). Its a hilarious yet sad look at the rise + fall of WCW, going through an almost week by week look at the company from 1996-2001. I especially enjoyed it as I used to watch WCW + WWF programming religiously from 1995 up until 2002, and can relate + remember sooo many things in the book

But the thing which is actually REALLY scary, is that soooooooooooooo many of the things in this book that take a look at the fall of WCW are things that we see week in, week out on WWE TV, and have done for years!!

Anyone else read this? Whats your opinion of the book? I thoroughly enjoyed it, I'd recommend this to everyone!!

true, as is stated in the book, but the board of wcw rejected that idea when changes were made behind the scenes ... im telling you, wwe now is slowly turning into wcw from 1999 ... same guys wont move out the way, stupid angles/skits + lack of connection with the audience ... its REALLY going to affect them sooner or later, and not in a good way

they have a strong fan base, a long history and a much better structure that I think they are safe for a while, unless something drastic happens that affects all that.

WCW had internal problems, guys staying home to get paid and etc, inmates were running the asylum...there was a lack of authority, which isn't the case in the WWE...the wrestlers know their position and they know who's boss.

its not a very long read ... but once i started i couldnt put it down. honestly, look all over the internet + youl hardly see a bad review of it anywhere - its appealing to hardcore wrestling fans + non-wrestling fans too

theres like a billion reviews of it on lance storms book club site ... i read them all + it made me want to pick up a book for the 1st time in about 7 years lol ... its THAT good

Also, WCW was just one of the many tentacles that Turner had going on. WWE is how Vince makes his living.
