Need Advice on Gran Turismo 4...

To anyone that's gotten this far, what kind of car should I use on the GT World Championship? I've tried quite a few race cars, like the '98 Mercedes CLK race car with like 1031 HP, but still can't finish any better than 4th in any of the races. I've tried the TVR Speed 12, but it failed miserably. The Camaro race car didn't come close either. There's a few other I can't remember...

...and don't tell me I need to step my game up, all the cars I used just can't keep up in the long run

Does anyone recommend the Escudo? Is it just as fast & just as ugly as in the previous GT games? Also, right now I got $1.5 million to play with, and about 40 cars I am willing to sell. I think the Escudo costs like $4.5 million, either that or it's not for sale. I forget...

RUF CTR2 is the best car in the game for the GT championship it handles the best and has a 0-60 time of 2.4 seconds with full maximization of parts.

Thanx d00d I'll try that, but usually production cars can't handle nearly as good as full-out race cars. Unless of course you tweak the suspension, test, re-tweak, test again, repeat.

Shit, the CTR2 can't hang at all in those races. I can't see the other cars like 5 secs into the race. How many rocks did u smoke yesterday KINGB19??? No big loss other than my time tho...

Ah well, still open for suggestions...maybe one of the Skyline race cars, hmmm???

my bad I just found out my roomate used one of those gay ass max power cheats stupid fucking kid our car tops out at 285 I should of known better. I haven't tried the Escudo yet I think that might be the best choice though. Sorry about that I hate when people use cheat codes it's retarded.

ya buddy. i cheated though. i put it on b-spec and tripled the time. you get a 24 hour race done in 8 hours.

Bottom line -- if you liked any of the other GT games, this is worth the money

Plethora of races, like a few hundred. They got rally races on snow now, looks awesome. Like 100 different tracks, there's some crazy ones, you'll just have to see for yourself :D

Fuckin gang of cars. Basically it has all the cars from the first three GT's and then some, including a few trucks. You can even get the Model T, and the first ever "cars" from Mercedes. You can now buy used cars from 3 different listings that update every in-game week (I think they had this in GT2 but not sure)

There's a few more parts you can get for your vehicles, like superchargers and rollcages, but nothing major. Still no racing modification 2#:-( You can add on a functional front/rear spoiler tho

Graphics are top-notch, I didn't think it could look much better than GT3 but it pounces all over it. Amazing detail on the tracks and cars. There's actually a visible pit crew changing yer tires, sweet :D

Hmm I'll have to try that, props Curious, what's yer % completed? I'm at like 42%, been doing all the one-make races since I can't get to the Extreme events yet. Been putting off the endurance races, but I'll deff B-Spec most if not all of em.

this game kiks ass.. havent even used b-spec yet, ill have to use it tho. lol, was playin wif my friend and he was drivin an 11hp subaru and i has drivin a huge chevy truck and i smashed the cunt on the straight at full speed and it was the funniest shit. the little car flys for ages and takes off at over 120ks.
