    Firmware (Updates, Walkthroughs, Rumours)

    Firmware Version 2.41

Hi, everyone. As many of you know, we released PS3 firmware update v2.40 last week, but had to take it offline temporarily because, for a limited number of users, the XMB wouldn’t display after the update was installed. We’ve been able to fix the problem, and I’m happy to report that firmware update v2.41 will be released shortly.

We want to extend our apologies to the PlayStation community for any inconvenience. Now we’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone online and racking up those trophies!

    Latest Rumours

One of the most requested features to come with In-Game XMB was Voice Chat. However when 2.40 arrived, many people were disappointed to hear that it wouldn’t be featured with the update. Sony will deliver this addition sometime later this year, however they also hope to go one step further: In-Game Video Chat. And we’re not just talking about video chatting while you have the game paused. According to an inside source, In-Game Video Chat will enable you to video chat with a friend while actually playing your game. It will work in a similar fashion to BD-Live where there is a PiP (Picture in Picture) window in the top right corner of the screen so you can see your friend(s) while you chat with them. It’s unclear when exactly this will arrive but it should come via firmware update by the end of this year.

Yeah after playing the Shadow Moses level i went and downloaded the first MGS for PC. It was awful in comparison lol its a classic game but woooow it made me realize just how far gaming has actually come.

Sirens controls were awful, yeah. I dont know if it was just my TV but it felt like i was playing on some antique piece of shit from the 90s, it had this really bad grainy effect. i was kind of hoping that it would be a good game.

Dude that game made me fuck with my tv settings for like 10 mins. That grainy effect looked like shit. It looked like interferance static. I thought my shit was fucked up then I put in MGS4 and realized that it's just that shit game. Bad Company pulled off the grainy effect very well, Siren did not.
