Lets talk about me me me!

Why do I know so many people who only want to talk about themselves and don’t really care about others? I have met so many people in my life that are only interested in themselves. When you talk to them, it can start to feel like you are holding an interview, because they dont ask anything back, and I just keep listening and asking questions about them, and thats it. OR they are so tricky to ask you a question so they can tell something about themselves. For example: how was your weekend? And you say: 'yea it was good, I went to this concert and....' then they just walse over it and go: 'oh really? Well my weekend was this and that and that' and they just go on and on about their weekend and you know they only asked you so they could start about their own. It just really seems hard to find people who truly care. Am I the only one who constantly bumps in to these kind of people? (arguingsm 2#:-(

yeah but i wouldn't use the word constantly since i'm usually joking when i talk to new people, but yes and i usually make it a point to either interupt them(questions from left field) in the middle of their doing that or walk away(also while they're talking).

I know exactly the type you're talking about, and I'm almost one of them.

I like talking alot about whats going on, on my side, strictly 'cause I'm the type who has to vent alot. Weather it's by writing, speaking, typing - whatever. I got to get shit off my chest alot. But, I do also care what people have to say and what's going on with them, so I'll stop myself after a while and see what they're up to.

The time's I'm not venting, I'm usually helping someone else out with their problems - because I like to.

that's good that u actually can get shit off ur chest by telling it 2 somebody, 4 me it's a different problem, i can't get shit off my chest so easily, i think it's because of my character, some people aint very open in conversations wit people they dont kno real good

back 2 the topic, i agree, it's annoying as fuck when somebody speaks only about him/herself, that's like the whole meaning of conversation disappear, cuz as i know conversation is when people exchange their ideas/thoughts/etc.

People are like that everywhere you go, and it's a real challenge to find someone who will listen to you without bringing their shit up in a conversation and sharing their side of the story. I have noticed that, sub-consciously, I can talk about myself quite a bit too, without even noticing it (just like I did right now, as I read over that sentence, I realized I did it). I think we all have that, kinda like the human instinct. It's not really annoying, but when you get 2 people who are all about themselves, that's when the issues may arise. Luckily, one of the closest friends of mine is the type who will often listen and give their unput on whatever it is we're discussing, as I'll do the same with them. I don't know.. people are like that. It's normal. You gotta learn to control it, that's all.
