I think there's a bunch of shit we can say about it from a physics standpoint, but from a philosophical standpoint it's different. There's no such thing as yesterday except in your head. There's no such thing as tomorrow except in your head. Either memories or dreams or visions, but we can't step outside of our time and look at another time. So we're stuck in a way. Yeah there's Einstein's special theory of relativity which is fascinating if you read what it says... But in terms of me, I'll never see yesterday, hell I'll never even see NOW again! But where did it go? Where did 1 second ago... GO? Obviously it's not here anymore, is it anywhere except in your memory? In some ways it is, in some ways it's not. But time is one thing that we're basically STUCK in in everyday life. Because we're stuck in time, stuck in a single time, some philosophers like Heidegger say that there's no such thing as an accurate (real) conception of what time is -- because everything we do is already IN time. We can't step out of time and look at it, all our experience occurs within time. So in a way some people say the meaning of being is... time! I think that's a cool idea, because other than in your dreams, there's only now.

Time is something that we cannot define yet it defines us.

when nihilism fits? this could be said about anything.

time is based on our physical standpoint in relation to the sun, it exists.

oh yeah, I think time definitely exists, but I think as humans the only time we are living in is right now... nobody can say shit about yesterday except from memory (in their head only). so i think from our standpoint, the only time we can really talk about that's not merely in our head is right now. yesterday was here and it exists, yet we are unable to reach it except in our minds. i think time definitely exists because without time there'd be no such thing as motion. but I think time is something of a higher principle... higher dimension... than we're able to control. we're able to walk any direction we want in the three dimensions, but we can't move through time... so I think it's hard to have a real conception of time because we're stuck inside of it.

time is...the point we're at in the (daily/4-yearly)cycle. we were here 4yrs ago+1day(even if that's not 100.00000000% accurate, you get the point?).i've been/had the same line of thought as you, just trying to disagree.

oh i thought of something else cool too... the word "exists" is in the present tense. so if you're saying time exists, you're only talking about now.. but how can we say something exists now when time IS the definition of now? if the concept of now comes from time, then saying time exists is kind of circular reasoning... even so, i think there is a such thing as time but that it's just so far beyond our grasp that it's extremely hard to touch it. also, to travel into the past, theoretically you'd have to go faster than light... and we can't do that, we can possibly get close and the only thing that will do is slow down time, but it won't stop us from going through it in the same direction... we have no control over it at all basically, time's the whole reason we can even mention time, it's something beyond us and extremely difficult if not impossible to fully comprehend. people that are disturbed by thinking about time going by are disturbed because people fear the unknown, time being an example of that. but in a way we all know what time is before we think about it, so why should thinking about it be what worries you about it?

Easy, Everything in the universe travels "against time" as in counterclockwise, so while the earth spins that way, clocks counter it by spinning the other, tracking and recording the "time" it took for it to happen.

anything is circular if you break it down enough.

theoretically, we could be going faster than light right now.
