  • Fat Joe's reference in "So Much More"

Fat Joe has a line where he says "a ella le gusta la gasolina" in "So Much More", how many actually know what he's reffering to in that? Ive asked a couple of people but none of them know. I know what hes referring to but id like to know if other people on here know.

I didnt mean the actual reference, but he's referring to another song. It's called "Gasolina" by Daddy Yankee, i dont know if it got any airplay anywhere in the U.S. though. It was a huge hit down here, cuz it's a hispanic community.

It's a huge hit down in here in Miami with in the clubs and radio. One of the most popular songs actually. Mainly because we have a large hispanic population.

yea it gets play in NYC; NYC and Miami are probably the two biggest U.S. cities in terms of reggaton popularity...i know i saw "gasolina" on Rap City a few times...what started as something created by El General, transformed and is slowly creeping into the U.S. market...

in the Dominican Republic, reggaeton is to the DR youth, what rap is to a lot of youth in America (the way i see it)...which surprised me because at the last time that i went, reggaeton wasn't as popular...

im not big on reggaeton but i listen to a few artists like daddy yankee, nicky jam, wishin, don omar, jonny prez, voltio, tego...its not the type of music to look for when it comes to substance; its mostly club songs...

Real big hit down here in Texas.
                      Gasolina by Daddy Yankee.
It's all in Spanish but it's bangin.
I have the album Barrio Fino which the song is on.
I'll up it just for the hell of it.

Yep, I knew he was referin' to Daddy Yankee's song because he even had the exact same flow on that line as it appears on the original track.. seen the video on B.E.T. too the other day, not bad, kinda simple but it gets a point across with all the good-lookin' latinas in it.. matter of fact, I think I'm sub-consciously getting driven into this whole reggaeton style.. likin' it..
..Still takin' my time to perfect the beat, and I still got love for the streets, it's the D-R-E...
