detroit is one of the most rundown cities in the united states but dowtown here is nice but murder rate here is very very high and filled with watchers who will rob or kill you if you look at them wrong sometimes but all of the work is in the suburbs i havent found a job in detroit unless it was in a fast food restaurant and midwest girl all i have to say is watch it out here crime is everywhere all over the world so if you got a job here take it and get paid(I)

But since you live in the midwest you don't have to worry about the weather but you do have to worry about the weather change, It can be damn near 70 degrees one day and the next its snowin' and shit so come on up to the livest city in the world and see fo yo self

I dont live their, but one of my friends lives their so I visted him a couple times. The city is run down as fuck, but the burbs are nice.

I'm in Nebraska and its actually a promotion with American Express. I'm appreciative of the honesty with regards to crime, I knew some areas could be pretty rough. Does Michigan have a concealed carry law? Crime can happen pretty much anywhere though, even the burbs. I don't really want to move but its a huge pay increase so I'm really considering it.

I just personally wouldn't move there because of the weather, Southside Ukraine has similar climate, and there it's un-fucking-bearable, like it'll be hot, but then fucking COLD

Just move.. it's not as bad as they tell you. If safety is such a big issue, and you have no problems driving accros the border, move to Windsor and get yourself an apartment downtown. I am personaly yet to witness any sort of violence, except for the drunks actin' up on the weekend, but it's nothing major at all compared to Detroit. Cops are at every corner looking out and making sure there's no crime. Good luck.. and also, would you move with someone else or by yourself? Because if you've got a boyfriend or a family, don't be so worried about Detroit, as long as you mind your own business, you should be alright, but if you're single.. hmm.. I wouldn't say Detroit is the place to be, especially if you make decent money.

single with kids and crime is gonna happen no matter where you live so its not a huge issue. I have conceal carry licence tho and would want one in Michigan if I moved there. I was a victim of a crime ONCE (and I lived in the burbs at the time) so its not so much of a worry cause if I go the dumb motherfucker who tries it is goin too..
