You might not of heard about this because I think the government tried to keep it hush hush.

Basically... they government wants to charge MORE road tax for the more you drive.

Basically you're going to have to buy a tracking device which goes in your car, then you get a bill at the end of the month for the tax you owe, the more you've driven during the month the more you'll pay.

Their is an online petition on the Downing Street website to reconsider this, it's definetly worth reading up on this and signing the petition.

That is unless you want to pay more road tax?

"The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non-working mother who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit, in time you can probably expect a Notice of Intended Prosecution with your monthly bill."

I might be totally alone in this but is it such a bad thing. I mean the there's far too many cars on the road. Only thing i object to is that we'd have to buy the tracking devices. Then there's the issue of them knowing where you are the whole time which sucks a bit. Still i do feel you should pay more road tax based on how much you drive

damn, im planning on getting an audi a3 for my birthday but damn, this is gonna killl us money wise, it should be more tax for the more expensive cars, if you drive a shitty 15 year old ford and you go around the country, your paying the same road tax as some one in a bently, that cant be right

Actually that's a great shout. I didn't really think enough about the idea before i posted. Thinking about it the cost of public transport is a joke, let alone the quality of the service. If i were to have to go to birmingham in the morning(before 9) it costs £60 on the train for a direct journey of roughly 60 miles. If i were to drive it would take me less time probably and cost me £10 petrol at most, plus possibly a little of parking money.
Having paid that £60 you're in no way guaranteed a seat and there is a very real chance you'll have to stand most if not all the journey. I haven't even mentioned the likelihood of the train being on time. Thank god when i've had to go to Birmingham for work i've had it paid for me!

All in all my first post was fucking stupid, like most things i say and more importantly like this idea. I officially stand corrected!

Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't that happen. The more CO2 omissions a car has the higher the road tax. Which is pretty much more expensive cars paying more.
Damn though, i'd love an audi A3. Nice cars, especially in black
