My iPod is frozen in time. I went to plug it in, and then nothing showed up, and the battery isn't charging. It showed up on iTunes saying it has detected a corrupted iPod and to try to replug it in. I did just that, and even when it's unplugged it says "Do not disconnect" and it is still dim and says it's on hold when it's not. I try to replug it in, but it won't show up on iTunes, so it doesn't give me the chance to restore it.

What should I do? Is the battery gonna die down, even thuogh it still looks like it's in the charge mode, even though it's not plugged in, and isn't being charged?

Same thing happened to my girlfriend's iPod.
We took it to Best Buy, and they said that we'd have to call the number on the back of the iPod to replace it, because it couldn't be repaired.

Well, you never know.. you might as well take it to a good computer store to see what they can do.

I think I will. If I were to have to get a new one, would I still be able to add the songs from my already in-use iTunes library onto that iPod?

Okay, then I'm not so worried. Because I didn't wanna have to upload 967 songs all over again. I've had to do that twice now. But if I have to pay another 300 dollars I'm gonna be pissed as hell.

967 songs? that's it?? i had to reload almost 3,000 because an error i made on my iTunes settings, lol. 3,000 songs + 2 TV seasons and a couple full-length movies.

try reading the instructions. did you try to reset it by holding "menu" and the select button?

I think I'm just gonna go bcak to Target to see if I can return it and get a new one, even though I got it back in September.

yah, you could always try the old "buy a new one and return the old one with the new receipt trick"... that still works at some places

How long is the warranty? Because I might be able to do that without a trick.

^That's good. I wish I had that many.

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY! I've read the booklet, but can't find exactly what it is. I think I got ninety days out of it...?
