I'm actually a conservative. Don't get me on to politics right now, because the English political parties are all messed up. I wouldn't vote for any right now. The Lib Dems are dreaming... they say what you want to hear and are unrealistic. Unfortunately Labour are messed up and are taking a right wing approach, and the Conservatives need a new start.

English political parties are all laughable at the moment.

Labour has completely abandoned their trade unionist roots and have become more right-wing than the Conservatives. Plus you have fascist idiots like Blunkett in there.

The Liberal Democrats are desperately trying to take advantage of the Conservatives' aimlessness, and overtake the Conservatives as the primary opposition. They do this with wild promises, trying to appease as many people as they can.

Conservatives need to reinvent themselves, and find a coherent set of goals with their next manifesto. They had a golden opportunity at the time of the Iraq War, but fucked up by not opposing it.

The fringe parties (UK Unionist, Green, UK Independence), as always have such radical agendas that they cannot even hope of becoming mainstream, with the exception of the BNP in the North, which is a real problem.

To answer the question, I don't align with political parties.

I study "politics" at university and I am well informed about the parties. I will have to join a party soon, cause its the best for my future job opportunities. I agree mostly with the Democrats, but not 100 %. At moment I dont like them all.

I'm not familiar with how the process works in England or Australia - do you guys vote for a party ? a prime ministor ?
