Question for people who smoke or have

This is to anyone who smokes. If you can tell me at about what age you started smoking, if you quit, and reasons why you started. I need to do this as part of a report for a class. Thanks for any info. Names will not be taken.

alot of peeps start smoking.....as a result of no weed...and they need something to smoke..thats for the upper ages...lower ages...start cuz thats what thier friends..doing not to fit in...just cuz..their like yo u want a cig...yea...then its let me get another one....at first cigs relieve tension..and stress..then its the oppisite when u dont get one...

I was fourteen when I started. I never really thought about why or what made me start, I just had a bit of extra cash one time at the store and decided to try it out, since it was the "done" thing. After that, I smoked quite heavily for about two years. I quit because it began to affect my performance in sports.

Smoked lightly in 7th/8th grade. Heavy from 11th grade to frosh year of college. Now I'm at 1 a day, right after supper.

first tried a cigarette in 7th grade, smoked for a few months. had an odd one in 8th and 9th grade. started again in year 10 and still smoking in 11th grade. bad habit

Well I had my first cig when I was like 8 or 9, I am not too sure when I actually "started" smoking, it was a pretty gradual thing.
