It's like... I've seen the actions of the groupies and the groupies being dissed... and I'm just curious :D

on this board a groupie is someone whos just here for eminem not d12, and of those here for d12 a groupie can also be someone who is overly enthusiastic in things in regard to eminem. This can apply to any artist on shady records on the board. being a groupie also generally has to do with how smart you seem to be, if you come off as being intelligent chances are you won't be labelled a groupie.

a groupie is usually classified as a person that wants to have sex with the person or who has no idea about the music, but pretends they do to get what they want. or in other cases, a person that obsesses over the artist.

I think my opinion of a groupie is someone that wants to fuck the artist they are obsessing over and thinks about nothing but them, but doesnt nessessarily know anything about them. A groupie isn't always just someone who is obsessed though...Let me use eminem for example....Many of his fans maybe 'obsessed' but not actual groupies. In other words there are different types of obsession, theres obsession over him in general and the need to touch him and be basicaly a 'groupie whore' or theres the obsession over his lyrics and how good he is as a performer.



I know someone who gets accused of being a groupie because her room is full of eminem pictures, knows nearly everything about him and because she would do nearly everything to meet him. I do not think she is a groupie. The reason she likes eminem so much is because she sees through his body and sees how much skill he has and that helps her with writting her own lyrics...also she isnt just about eminem, she also likes other rappers such as pac and biggie. Just because she believes in they're style and thinks one rapper is better than and deserves more credit than the rest does not mean she is a groupie....it is her personal opinion. <thats just an example by the way

Groupies are obsessed with one artist, probably don't like other artists - seeing as its d12world i'll use eminem as an example - maybe they will buy/listen to Shady records artists but most likely just for the tracks em is on.

Also groupies wouldn't say a song was shit, they'd just say they loved every single track etc. They also probably don't know shit about anything else in music except for the one artist. And probably want to see new pictures rather than listen to new songs.

And they say shit like they love the person, wanna marry them, do anything to meet them/touch their hands etc.

Fans appreciate the artists skill and say when a track is shit etc they listen to a lot of diff artists rather than be blinded by one person.

yeh i think many people get labelled as groupies unnecessarily. I mean, my name is obie's gyal, but I'm not an obie groupie. I like him, and his music, and respect his skills. With Eminem, yes he is fucking damn fine, but I wouldn't like him if he had no musical talent, which is most important in my opinion. I also don't like D12 just for Eminem, but rather everyone. Often though, if a girl fancies an artist, she is instantly labelled a groupie.
