  • Jay Z An R Kelly Have Beef?

Jay-Z and R. Kelly don't just sing and rap on their current national tour - they're also said to be doing a brilliant job of pretending they're friends.
"Offstage, they're not even speaking," a well-placed source tells us. "It's become a huge problem."

Insiders say that Jay-Z always had mixed emotions about the tour, which had been planned for 2002, when their first CD collaboration, "Best of Both Worlds," came out.

But after Kelly was hit with child-pornography charges, Jay wouldn't promote the album or even pose for a picture with him.

Following the dismal sales of that CD, Jay agreed to support "Best of Both Worlds: Unfinished Business," the second part of the original collaboration, by performing with Kelly in 40 cities.

But one source says that, on the first night of the tour, Kelly was unnerved by the response Jay got from the audience in Chicago, Kelly's hometown.

"Jay-Z destroyed R. Kelly onstage," says the source.

Some were also stunned by Kelly's flip attitude toward his felony charges in a scene where, dressed in prison garb, he simulated sex with two women in a cage.

Kelly cut that scene and revamped his part of the show. But the changes caused the second night's show to start two hours late. The following night's show in Cincinnati had to be postponed.

Not surprisingly, says our source, "Jay was annoyed."

It shows. In Chicago, an AP critic noted that, "except for two sets of about 20 minutes each, Jay-Z and Kelly never appeared onstage together. ... Jay-Z wound up performing one of the duo's most popular hits, 'Fiesta,' by himself."

Yea, that's wrong though. That critic from Chicago basically lied about the whole show(I believe he was sent the child porn video) they said, and since he is going to be testifying against Kelly, he basically tried to blast him. The next day in the paper, they let the cat out of the bag as they stated all this and that the concert was actually good. He also wasn't simulating sex from what it said. I can't remember what it actually was and I don't have the paper anymore as it was written 2 days after the concert.
