It's been nearly 9 years since the glory days of Bad Boy. With the days of shiny suits and catchy hooks long gone, does Bad Boy still have a place among current hip-hop? You better believe it.
Chairman/CEO/President/Founder/etc. Diddy has revamped and reloaded the Bad Boy roster with familiar talent and some new faces to drop next year in which he is calling, "the year of Bad Boy." Among the faces you have seen already is Black Rob, who's "Black Rob Report" drops on October 18th. Following Rob will be the long awaited Notorious B.I.G. "Duets" album, coming in January.
Then comes what Diddy is calling his masterpiece. Diddy's new album, tentatively titled "PD5," will be the last album from Diddy and his greatest work to date. Guest appearences include Jay-Z, Notorious BIG, Black Rob, G Dep, 112, Faith Evans, LOX, Mase, Mario Winans, Carl Thomas and Total.
What of the new faces? Bad Boy signed the man that was tearing up mixtapes last year, Aasim. Aasim, who is currently recording his debut album with the help of long time Bad Boyer Deric D-Dot Angelette, is set to drop in the summer of 2006. This album will be followed by former Da Band members Ness, Babs and Chopper aka Young City in summer/fall 2006.
The end of 2006 will see new albums from Mario Winans and Boyz in da Hood.
