Synergy can be a great thing. 2K Sports, the most athletic appendage of the video game behemoth Take-Two, is combining their knack for entertaining thumbs with hip-hop's knack for entertaining feet to create a game and accompanying record that will get all your extremities moving. NBA 2K6, their newest installment of b-ball for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, will feature original music from b-boys Redman, Common, RJD2, the Roots, Little Brother, Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, Jean Grae, Heiroglyphics, Aceyalone, Zion I, Aesop Rock and Skillz. All the songs will be released separately on the compilation The Tracks by Decon Records, and both the album and game will be promoted by the 2K Sports Bounce Tour headlined by the Roots, RJD2, Aceyalone and more. And if that wasn't enough entertainment crossover for one news story, check this: 2K6 features a mode where you can play in Harlem's famous Rucker Park as a rapper from the soundtrack and beyond (cameos include Method Man, Redman, Flava Flav, ?uestlove, Common and Aesop Rock). If you've ever wanted to throw up bricks with the Brick City Bandit, or keep the rock away from Flava Flav, this might be just what the sports doctor ordered.
