Kanye West Added To Saturday's Coachella Lineup

This year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is just two days away, but that hasn't stopped the organizers behind the weekend rock jubilee from making 11th-hour additions to the event's already talent-rich bill — at least not when hip-hop golden child Kanye West is asking why he didn't get an invite.

It was revealed late Wednesday that the Louis Vuitton don would be crashing this weekend's star-studded party in the small desert town of Indio, California, to grace the main outdoor stage Saturday night. Coachella is set to play out Saturday and Sunday, with Depeche Mode and Tool serving as the festival's co-headliners (see "Tool And Franz Ferdinand Will Rock Coachella").

West's set is sandwiched between the one Common's expected to deliver between 4:55 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., and Sigur Rós' performance, scheduled for 7 to 7:50 p.m. West will own the microphone starting at 5:45 p.m.

Franz Ferdinand, Daft Punk and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley will also top the first evening's bill, with Depeche Mode capping off the night's action. Others scheduled to perform Saturday include the Eagles of Death Metal, My Morning Jacket, Head Automatica, Carl Cox, Cat Power, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, She Wants Revenge, Wolf Mother, Living Things and "You Hear It First" artists Hard-Fi and the Like.

Tool will close the festival Sunday night, following performances from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Massive Attack, Bloc Party, Scissor Sisters, Matisyahu, James Blunt, Sleater-Kinney, Coheed and Cambria, Gnarls Barkley (featuring Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo) and Wolf Parade.

Kanye's hasn't been the first big name to be added to the bill since the initial Coachella announcement was made almost three months ago — and it might not be the last. Madonna will be making her festival debut just after 8 p.m. Sunday night in the techno-saturated Sahara Tent (see "Madonna Set To Make Her Festival Debut At Coachella"). No act is scheduled to take the main stage during her 50-minute performance.
