  • Eminem's Band, Da Band Buzz, MOP Tours, Neptunes Tribute

In this week's Pulse Report, Eminem comes back, Pharoahe Monch and M.O.P. tour, The Neptunes pay tribute to The Native Tongues and Dylan dumped from Da Band?

    1. Eminem Comeback w/My Band
Eminem's back and leaving all the drama behind with the new D12 single, "My Band." The comedic song and video premiered this week on BET and MTV to the delight of fans who've missed Marshall's lighter side. Over the past few months, the Detroit emcee has been wrangled in battles with Murder Inc., Benzino and The Source which accused him of being a racist. There's no sign of the angry white blond on "My Band" though, an irreverent play on the disparities facing a band when the lead singer gets all the groupie love. Watch the video for yourself.

    2. Who's Leaving Da Band?
That's the question everyone who's been watching Diddy and his dysfunctional band in the third season of Making The Band. Diddy has made it clear that this time around, Da Band will be losing one member and all bets are on the misfit, Dylan. Reports have surfaced that the raggamuffin reggae rapper has been officially removed from the group after being late and missing many of promotional events P-Diddy scheduled. This rumor was reinforced when Dylan was the only member not present at last week's taping of The Chappelle Show, resulting in Chappelle himself playing the role of the delinquent emcee in the sketch. Diddy is supposed to begin looking for a replacement before the year rounds up.

    3. N.E.R.D teams up with Native Tongues
Long known to be A Tribe Called Quest fanatic, The Neptunes' alter ego N.E.R.D are rumored to have recorded a remix of "She Wants To Move" with De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest. The remix is said to be a tribute to The Native Tongues, a collective that has greatly influenced the super producers.

    4. Pharoahe Monch and M.O.P. to Tour
Pharoahe Monch and M.O.P.'s next releases have been two of Hip-Hop's most anticipated releases for some time now. It's already been 5 years since Monch dropped the critically acclaimed Internal Affairs and four since MOP's Warriors. As of late, both have been teasing heads with street singles and cameos. Yet, fans yearning for their music are soon to be satisfied as the two parties are rumored to be in negotiations for an upcoming spring tour.

    5. Unwanted Pepsi Bottlecaps Benefit Artists
Pepsi's giving away free ITune downloads on winning bottle caps but 80% of folks simply aren't redeeming them. As a result, a company called Tune Recycler is collecting unwanted caps to support independent artists like rapper, Jean Grae. Currently when a cap is redeemed, Pepsi pays Apple $.99 for each song and Apple relays 65 cents to major record labels. However, when winning bottle caps are returned to Tune Recycler, the money will be donated to independent record labels and in turn give their artists 40 to 50 cents from the first sale.
WHAT UP BLOOD? WHAT UP CUZ? WHAT UP BLOOD? WHAT UP GANGSTA.
