that interview was in a german newspaper on sunday. sorry if there are any mistakes, i translated and typed it up myself.
BamS: Your new Album is called "D12 World". What is part of your World?
Kon: All things that go on with us, for example like some people hate us. In the song "My Band" we get back verbally at everybody who disses us.
BamS: Why do you have that many problems with other people?
Kon: I wouldnt call it problems, i would call it obstacles. We are really pissed off about people who calls us background singers or shit similar to that.
BamS: What do you do against it?
Kon: We retaliate really good on our Album. We only say: "Fuck it".
BamS: Does it annoy you that everybody talks about Eminem?
Kon: Its a Gift and a Curse at the same time. He is one of the popularst Entertainers of our time. Take 50 Cent for example. No matter how successful he is or will be, he will always be associated with Eminem because he discovered and supported him. And its the same with us.
BamS: What keeps you together?
Kon: Love (laughs)! Love and God. We know each other since we were teenager. We grew up together since the early nineties.
BamS: How did you grow up?
Kon: My Childhood was okay. I lived in a Ghetto. Everybody who lived there was poor, so we didnt fight each other, we only had fights with people who had more than we had (laughs). It was very rough: I have seen how people got killed or robed.
BamS: Did you ever steal?
Kon: Yes, I stole in many Shops and I broke into houses. That was crazy shit. I was really stupid at that time.
BamS: Why did you do that?
Kon: I was hungry and needed food. I always needed things that I could sell for food.
BamS: Didnt your Parents take care of you? Couldnt they?
Kon: Yes, they did, but kids do what they want to. Most of the time we had enough to eat, but sometimes not. And I also did it because the others did it too. I wanted to be cool. It wasnt really cool and I had to pay for it. But that are things that you learn when you wake up and your are simply stupid.
BamS: Do you regret what you did back then? Like taking Drugs?
Kon: I smoked a bit weed, but I never did hard drugs. There is one thing I really regret. I broke into a house in wich a dead woman was. She didnt have a family, so they didnt find her until someone smelled it. The authorities took her out of the house and we didnt have anything better to do than break into the house and steal her things to sell them. Now I am really ashamed because of that. She was an old woman who had nobody. She even had to die alone. That was incredible disrespectful of me.
BamS: Did you only hang out on the streets or did you go to school?
Kon: I was at school too. My mom took care of that I graduated from high school. I am really thankful for that.
BamS: What kind of jobs did you have before D12?
Kon: I worked about a year and a half for UPS, then Eminem helped me to get a job at a Fast Food Restaurant. We worked there together, and got fired together. That was funny.
BamS: What did you do there?
Kon: We only did Bullshit. We rapped instead of taking the orders and making food. Until our Boss got totally mad and fired us. He better wouldnt have hired us both (laughs).
BamS: Do you think you would be that successful without Eminem?
Kon: I think there would be no way for us to be that big like we are right now. Eminem is the best Artist I ever have seen. He didnt needed to do that for us, but he does.
BamS: How much time do you spend with D12?
Kon: Even so we all have families, we spend alot time together. They even made a surprise party for my birthday in my house. I was deeply stirred.
