  • Encore was a fuck you!

I think Dre had alot to do with Encore being so fucked up. I remember from an interview a while ago about Encore before it was out, 50 said Dre is pushing him in a different direction and he is doing it now with Busta, Dre knows how versitile both Busta and Em are so he is expierementing with them. The Big Bang is going to be alot like Encore. Also from what i heard Dre and Jimmy advised Em to put out a "friendlier" album because the one Em wanted to do would piss alot of people off. Encore was a message. Proving fans now and days only care about beats not lyrics, it was a fuck you for making me famous to all his fans. Honestly i think Em didn't know how successful he was going to be and didn't have a 4th CD planned, now he is rethinking everything, he doesn't have a next move. It will take him a while to think of one. And honestly if he could go back he never would have rapped. Look at all the tracks produced by Dre on Encore: Big Weenie, Rain Man, Just Lose It, and Ass Like That. Here's a question, Has Em ever shown up Dre on a track?

I agree that it was a fuck-you but I doubt Dre had much to do with the direction of it, actually the opposite. My theory was always that Eminem's first two records were Dr. Dre's vision, and as Eminem got more experienced and more into producing and management, Dre let him to do his own thing more and more. I say that because lyrical shocks and attacks are something Dre loves to put against his classy beats, not self-absorbed reflections. So in that sense Encore does show that Eminem's records are nothing without Dre behind them, but I don't think in the way you said.
