H.O.O.D. is Eminem. That's why he's constantly "TRYING" to fight tooth and nail for the general consensus to change. Except he forgot one thing: Nothing will change our opinions about and/or on it. I don't care if the worst songs were taken off of Encore. It would still suck to me (And mostly everybody else with a brain). So please. By all means, just stop trying to fish for compliments, Eminem. Or should I call you "H.O.O.D.?" Just face it. He's not a God. He can make mistakes.

Even if you can remove songs from Encore(Just Lose It, Ass Like That, etc) and even add the best songs on Straight From The Lab EP, the most you could possibly have would be a good album.

Eminem: Honestly, I'm not really angry at anything right now. I'm OK with my life and what's going on right now. This is not really an emotionally driven album. There are a couple of songs, Beautiful being one of them, that touch on where I am emotionally, but it goes there without getting too dark. The overall theme of the record is to have a centre. I feel like I lost that on my last albums. Encore is a good record but I don't feel like it was a great record for me. It wasn't quite up to what I feel like my personal standards are for myself. It wasn't all that I'm capable of doing.
AB: Are you saying that Encore falls short musically, lyrically or both?
Eminem: It feels a little too self-loathing to me. When I go back and listen to it… it just feels like I'm pissing and moaning about whatever. It sounds like in my head I feel like I have all these things to piss and moan about. And maybe I did, maybe I didn't, I don't know, but to actually bring that kind of shit to the forefront like that, I just don't agree with it. I guess to me now it feels like I beat up the subject of what was me. That's what that record's overall theme feels like. Even Curtain Call feels like that was me then and I guess it was. That is where I was at then.
AB: Are you at the point in your sobriety where you look back at those albums and trace how you were changing at all? Eminem: Oh definitely. Encore wasn't the start of my drug use but it was the start of the progression of my addiction. It really went to the next level between The Eminem Show and Encore – that's when it started progressing from recreation to a real problem.

On his 'classics' (TSSLP, TMMLP, TES) he was an occaional weed/shrooms/ecstacy user, not an addict. The only time he used back in those days excessively was when he was on tour, around his daughter he said he'd quit. Not to mention, the effects of stimulants like weed and ecstacy are nothing like prescription medication he got hooked on in 2003 (actually, filming 8 Mile was what started it.)

I was a big em fan thru 99-2003.. once encore came out.. I wasn't really a fan anymore.. i bought the album..but I can tell this wasn't the same em, that i was used to hearing, obviously.

Encore isn't horrible, it's not great...but in between.. a lost gem in a case of mistaken idenity. I don't know wtf im saying but i hope it makes sense..lol

I listened to encore recently too and it's not half as bad as people make out. Not his best by a long shot, but the content on the serious songs is some real shit. his rapping skills aren't all that tho

Didnt em say that ten years from now ppl will look back an say encore is a classic? either way shit album imo. took me a while but i've grown to love relapse. huge step up flow wise, give it time an lyrics will be right up there.
