  • Havoc vs Prodigy [not a battle]

Well I heard many-many Mobb Deep songs, and I just gotta hand it to Havoc as in overall rapper, his lyrics are more complex, but I like Prodigy very-very close to him for his style, but he fronts TOO Much nowadays. Back in the day (Shook ones) I would hand it to Prodigy with no doubt.

(not talking about battles, 1 on 1).

    What's your thoughts?

Havoc....the man produced "Why" ! Besides that "Amerikaz Nightmare" is one of the most bangin CD's this year. Prodigy is hard as fuck but Havoc takes it. Havoc + Alchemist= A killer CD. Mobb Deep is forever gunna be great because of Havoc, and it wouldn't be the same without P so they're truly great.

I personally prefer Prodigy, his style is simple, but he keeps it straight gangsta, he's come up with some of the greatest lines in hip-hop history, and his verse on 'Shook Ones Pt. II' just made ya spine tingle, he's also held it down on a solo CD too, which also had some classic joints on there, I like Havoc, just not as much as I like P', P's just straight gangsta

"Shook individual bound from blind fear
Scared to death niggaz fall to they worst fear" - 'G.O.D Pt. III'

"There's a war goin' on outside, no man is safe from
You could run but you can't hide forever
from these, streets, that we done took
You walkin witcha head down scared to look" - 'Survival Of The Fittest'

"For all of those who wanna profile and pose
rock you in your face, stab your brain wit' your nosebone" - 'Shook Ones Pt. II'

            "Your crew is featherweight
my gunshots'll make you levitate" - 'Shook Ones Pt. II'

prodigy was better lyrically than havoc from juvenile hell to murda muzik imo...with the horrible infamy and now amerikaz nightmare, havoc seems to be better lyrically than prodigy, who's skills have been declining since infamy...

production wise (yes, prodigy has dabbled in some of that), havoc has always been better, though its a little hard to gauge who was nicer in the early years when they never delegated who was the chief producer or who did what exactly (a lot of mobb deep's songs would say, "produced by mobb deep")...
