as long as there are prominent rappers taking the indie route, and as long as the internet gives us unlimited access to them ungerground catz when radio/tv/mags dont, then real hip hop will live on...

The Sad State Rap Is In!

Ayo,what the fuck are you listening to on the radio man,you call that shit hip hop??!!That's some faggot bitch shit yall listening to!You let the radio programmers tell you how to mix!!!???You fucking robots, fuck yall!-DJ Primeire,on Gang Starr's "Piece Of Mind"

I had to post that, that whole "Kanye West defending gays" is another example to show you why rap is so soft now.It seems every dude in rap has a mentallty of a bitchy girl or a little kid. It's getting sickening.I thought last year was bad,but this year is far worser. What happened to songs that were hardcore?Im not talking about the way G-unit presents it.Im talking about the way Lost Boyz did on "Lifestylez Of The Rich And Famous":

Lifestylez Of The Rich And Famous, some die with a name some die nameless

That chorus is simple but it's so true. There are more rappers who present that lifestyle in a good way like how Mobb Deep used to do(Shook Ones,Survival Of The Fittest). It had this awareness to it.Now you have rappers like 50 who don't show the paranoia, stress etc. of that life. They just make it look like you live easy.Im getting tired of rappers not rap.I just listen to 90's rap that's it for now.The only new rappers I listen to are Papoose and Eminem(if you still count him as new). That's it.The rest of the new rappers in the mainstream are either A.Over Hyped or B.No Talent. It's going to take someone to come out and really force their music on people. We need another N.W.A.,Public Enemy,Onyx,Boogie Down Productions,Cypress Hill the list goes on and on. They don't have to be gangsta or anything I just want to hear something refreshing but it's still raw at the same time.Ya know?
