Pac for the effect his death had on hip-hop as a whole; but for me personally, Proof.

I don't want to say Tupac, but I'm not gonna jump up and scream that the sky is pink just because everyone else is saying that it's blue. However, this does not and should not allow anyone to deny a near-equal impact on hip-hop due to the deaths of BIG, Pun, Big L, Easy E, and Jam Master Jay. I can't predict what the effect of Proof's death will be on hip-hop, or how intense the effect might be; but the death of a rapper will inevitably have some impact on the music and culture, no matter how small.

I agree, but you can't really think JMJ had more of an impact than 'Pac. I mean, it's hard to listen to an entire album now without hearing something like "RIP to my ***** Pac" or someone comparing themselves to 'Pac, or some kind of tribute to Tupac. The fact is, Tupac helped put rap on the map more than anyone before him. He's a household name. It's a shame, but JMJ doesn't have that same thing going for him.

It's sad that 7 out of those 10 rappers listed died by way of the gun.

The others.. AIDS, obesity, and drugs.

Anyway... hate to be cliche... but either Big or Pac... all of them are close though... JMJ with Run DMC all the years... Pun for the Latinos... etc.
