Does everyone go through this phase?

I used to hate on nas cause I just didn't like illmatic. Then illmatic became the only reason I liked nas, because his other cd's "sucked". Now I got all his cd's and I don't understand why I didn't start liking him immidiatley. Am I the only person that goes through a hate phase and then end up doing a complete 180 and actually start appriciating. If yes, what artists and songs or am I gonna see alot of (imwstupid signs for this?

then i downloaded poison pen, when it came out and i fucking love it, so i gave 'HTSYA' another try and i bump it a lot now. lol
