Why are two of the greatest (Pun and Big L) slept on?

Maybe because people like 2pac have about 12 albums out, recorded over a 5 year period, whereas Pun had 2 albums in what... a 3 year career? The amount of material does matter.... if i come out with the greatest song ever made tomorrow and then do nothing afterwards, do I deserve to be mentioned with the greats?
