Best underground label of all-time: Rawkus Records. I miss that shit.

Pharoahe, Kweli, Mos Def. Damn. Those were probably my three favorite underground emcees ever too.

"Internal Affairs" and "Black Star": IMO two of the best 10 albums ever recorded.

Word those are good emcees but now kweli and mos def are commercial. They are tight but I think from ur answer i think you should listen to more underground... I ain't trying to start shit... but most of the people in this forum listen to a lot of underground as do I and I would never say they are the best underground artists and most of the others that only listen to underground wouldn't say that... they are good but should never be called "three favorite underground emcees ever too" by someone. maybe one of them but those are like some of the some mainstream underground artists... Pharoahe wouldn't be called mainstream underground if all this about him and shady didn't come out...

Dawg, I listen to a lot of underground rap and have done for a while...

Note that I said those three "were" my favorite underground emcees... I'm talking late '90s era, when, like I said, Pharoahe came with "Internal Affairs" (and I'm not forgetting about the Organized Konfusion albums either) and Mos/Kweli dropped "Black Star".

As of now though, Kweli and Mos are not what they used to be IMO. I don't really like Mos' new album and Kweli's is decent but easily his worst effort so far. And like you said they're not really underground anymore.

I can't say shit about Pharoahe cos he hasn't done shit recently.

My favorite underground emcees right now are Immortal Technique, Ill Bill and MF Doom... and I'm feelin' MF Grimm and Brother Ali also... plus Ras Kass and Masta Ace, obviously.

Who are your favorite underground emcees right now and all time, JULZ?
