What is your view on them?
....or Nu-Metal in general?
Alot of people believe they are just made by the industry and everything they do sounds exactly the same.
I believe in some cases, songs can seem similar, but they have a nice, unique sound and Mike Shinoda is a great rapper, who IMO, hasn't shown the true level of his skills on any LP album as of yet. (Fortunately, he now has a solo in the works).
I find that Chester Bennington, the lead singer has an amazing voice. The band could probably branch out to a bigger audience and get more recognition if they did more ballads and slow songs. My December is undoubtedly the most popular song they've done, and it isn't even on Hybrid Theory or Meteora.
And the closest song to that, would be Breaking The Habit, which is also a huge hit, even before it was out as a single.
Regardless of if they look fake, these guys are not lazy or stupid. I've never heard of a time when they weren't on tour or working with someone, along with organizing and creating the artwork for their booklets and covers themselves. Mike Shinoda seems to be the big brain behind alot of LP though. Considering Chester Bennington wasn't even the original lead singer when they were still Xero and Chester was really in a band called Grey Daze.
So, anyways, enough rambling.. What do you think of them or the genre of Nu-Metal that they are categorized in??
