    Source: LP Association

Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington recently confirmed the existance of a solo album in a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine in their August 2005 issue. The article reads:

LINKIN PARK screamer CHESTER BENNINGTON will release a solo record, and he breaks the news in the Smoking Section. "We took Nineties rock, mixed it with Eighties pop like DEPECHE MODE, THE CURE, and BAUHAUS and smashed them together," says Bennington. "It's fuckin' driving beats and walls of guitars." Songs like "Morning After" and "Walking in Circles" are in the can, and Bennington is especially psyched about a new song, which a friend says "sounds like T.REX."

    ALSO.....

A snippet of a song Chester recorded before his work in Grey Daze, that is part of a demo, was released. The full should be out there eventually.

Supposedly he wants it out the beginning of 2006.

Why not a new Linkin Park album instead? I don't like Chester enough to listen to him for a whole album without Mike to break the monotiny (is that a word?). In fact, neither of them sound good alone (High Voltage...eugh), so this is disappointing news to me.

          Linkin Park are constantly touring.

Mr Hahn is doing alot of directing.

          Mike is doing his solo.

And they are having issues with their label.

So, they've all been working on other stuff on the side when they can. The LP album had to be put on hold... Nothing wrong with working on their own careers while LP is put on pause for a bit.

didn't really like the old LP stuff before mike with chester as the lead singer, but maybe he's improved. though not really by the sounds of that other song you just put up. i agree with luis except i like mike's solo performances...

Yeah, that link sounds like Alanis Morrisette had a sex change and it only pissed her off even more, but her voice was too messed up to express it sufficiently so she threw a tantrum and there happened to me a recording studio on hand.

They probably are writing a new album. All of Reanimation and a good part of Meteora was written on the road. LP is one band that isn't usually limited to writing albums in the given space of time in-between tours ect.

I for one can't wait, I'm sure it will be a great album.

(If it's an entire album of "Crawling"s)

I have no doubt they've done a little work for the new album. But, at the same time, most have been working on their own thing.. I wouldn't be surprised if the next LP album came in Fall/Winter '06

gah...Chester doesn't need one. He's more of a main vocalist in pretty much 90% of LP songs.

Mike's idea is good since we never really see the true full rap side of him. We don't hear him producing beats often, if ever.

Nothing wrong with Chester wanting to do a solo.... It'd be just like Mike Shinoda, getting to finally do his own thing. Chester is just doing his. He gets to do most of the vocals, yeah, but the songs themselves would clearly be different and more like the ones he did away from LP and before ever joining the group.

I for one, would love to see a Chester solo, and I'm sure many others would to.
