    1. Mansard Roof - Immediately sets the tone for what will be a sonically adventurous album, utilizing instruments in ways that most modern day bands won't as a backdrop for original and catchy melodies. Works very well as an opener for the album. A-

    2. Oxford Comma - Probably my favorite on the album, Oxford Comma employs some of the year's most brilliantly quirky lyrics (basically a diss song for rich, snobby, preppy, pretentious bastards, complete with Lil Jon references and quotable profanity). I find it hard not to love this song...and not to play it over and over. A

    3. A-Punk - This one's the first single, the one that caught my attention when I caught it on MTV2 one afternoon. At 2:18, it almost feels (like many of the album's songs) too short, but that we are left wanting more speaks more of song's quality than anything else. Interesting video, and (you're probably seeing a trend here) undeniably catchy. A

    4. Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa - Love it. I don't even have much to back this one up with, except for the same arguments I made for the last 3 songs. Vampire Weekend have found their stride here, and found a distinctive voice, both musical and lyrical, that make this just as instantly funny, compelling, and original as everything before it. A-

    5. M79 - Another contender for best song on the album. Feels damn near like a classical song, which may sound odd, but it works brilliantly. Striking a great balance of whimsical charm and underlying sadness, this would be perfect for a Wes Anderson film. A

    6. Campus - Upon first listen, this struck me as a perfect choice for a single. And it probably would be a hit. And yet its charms (which certainly exist) are less substantial than the album's true highlights; it's a fun song, but still pretty inconsequential. B+

    7. Bryn - This one had to grow on me, but it certainly has. The band takes very typical lyrics and matches them with music that is a lot more interesting than it ought to be. B

    8. One (Blake's Got A New Face) - Ugh...this song is probably the catchiest on the whole album...and also by far the worst. Something about it just absolutely grates on me in a way that usually is reserved for the latest Fergie single, or perhaps the sound of nails on a chalkboard. I find myself humming/singing this one from time to time, which I guess shows that it gets the job done. And it certainly isn't an incompetent song. I just can't really stand it. So I'll compromise and give it a C.

    9. I Stand Corrected - One of the more somber songs on the album, but there's a certain conviction that makes it feels honest and sincere. It's another one that had to grow on me, but grow on me it did. A-

    10. Walcott - Urgent, spontaneous, even beautiful, Walcott returns the album to the heights reached in the album's first half. Feels even more sincere than I Stand Corrected, and has a musical intensity that is perhaps unmatched by the rest of the album. A

    11. The Kids Don't Stand a Chance - Here's another grower. And yet now that I have learned to love it, I can't imagine the album ending any other way. B+

    Overall grade: A-, or 9/10

I love this album, at first I just listened to A-Punk alot but just about every song is great. I gotta agree with you on One (Blake's Got A New Face), if there's one song I skip it's that one. Right now I'd say it's a toss up between Oxford Comma and Walcott for my favorite song.

Kinda skeptical about it if Manar gave it a 5, but I'll download it and check it out. Will report back after a few listens.

^Overrated indie shit that Pitchfork gave a lot of praise to and inevitably got way over-hyped. A few of its songs are good though.

IDK, I listened to the album when it first came out...really just wasn't for me. The sound and feel of the album just really isn't my style. I really couldn't give it a fair review, so I won't. I just wanted to add my .02.

I actually saw a live YouTube video of Blake's Got a New Face that I loved and wasn't annoying at all.
